Princess Anna of Arendelle. That's what they all call me at least. But I'm not that princess. I'm just Anna, younger sister to Elsa: the princess turned queen of Arendelle.
Please don't be intimidated by my energetic and slightly awkward personality; I'm just not used to meeting new people. I've been cooped up in this castle my whole life so I'm not used to meeting other human beings.
So, would you like to build a snowman?

“Yeah, I’m a mail carrier, mostly for the businesses and homes in the center of town,” he said with a shrug. “If you like everyday, boring jobs, I suppose it’s cool, though I’ve never really been a big fan of it. Especially when there’s dogs involved,” he chuckled, wondering how cliche that sounded. “Mostly my hands are calloused…I used to sail a lot, so I’m averse to papercuts,” he said, wiggling his hands out in front of his face. “And no, that’s the senders’ job,” he answered, his nose wrinkling up in distaste.
“I remember when I was little and I found a packet of stamps. I licked all of them and stuck them all over me. I was sadly not noticed by my parents or my sister because they acted like I didn’t exist, but I nearly gave Kai a heart attack. That was fun.” Anna let out a chortle before looking at the menu to look like she was doing something productive. “Sailing? I’ve been on a boat before!”
“People are cruel, I suppose it’s just their nature, though it’s a shame,” Liam sighed, sitting across from her in the booth and leaning up against the window, letting the side of his face rest against the glass while he watched her.
“You’ve never been here before?” he repeated, surprised. “Well, then, you must try one of the hamburgers. They’re delicious,” he urged, reaching across and sliding her menu closer to her. “I come here all the time after my mail runs. And yeah, it’s weird,” he teased.
"Well thank you because I like being weird.” Anna tried to keep a straight face but her smile broke through the facade and she let out a laugh, using the menu to cover her face. “Dang it! I can’t stop smiling! Okay– no, moving on. You work in the post office? That’s so cool! Though I imagine you need a lot of Band-Aids for papercuts from the envelopes and such, right? Oh, do you get to lick a lot of stamps? Does your tongue dry out from licking too many stamps? I can imagine it would and then the stamp sticks to your tongue instead of the envelope and then where would you be?”
For every “forgive me, father” I receive in my inbox I’ll share a memory that haunts my muse with guilt.
"The day that my parents were going to go to a wedding in Corona. My cousin and her fiance were getting married and my parents– the King and Queen of Arendelle– wanted to be there early to help out and to do everything they could to make sure the wedding went off without any issues. Elsa had tried to stop them, begging them to wait for one more day because we heard that there was an awful storm. I just told them to have a good trip and I would see them when they got back.
Their ship didn’t make it to Corona. Their graves are empty graves. I keep wondering what would’ve been different if I had begged them to stay like Elsa had. Maybe they would’ve listened and they’d still be here today– but I’ll never know. I’ll never know and it’s all my fault.“
“I was kidding, lass,” he chuckled, becoming more and more amused with Anna’s awkward demeanor. “I’ve actually never met any Anna, save for you,” he said as they approached the diner and he opened the door for her, letting her enter first. “Well, I think it was a compliment. I wouldn’t be one to insult you, at least,” he smiled.
"Well, thank you. Most people would think it their duty to insult me in some way or make me feel less than happy. People try to make it a game to see if they can make me sad but I don’t let them. Always find the silver-lining of things or life will just fall on top of you and crush you.“ Anna walked ahead of him and found a booth that was near one of the windows, sitting down and looking at the menu. "So… can I be honest? I’ve never actually been here for more than a quick second. I work at the Sandwich shop down the street. We’re small and no one really cares about us or knows we exist, but I’m usually so wrapped up in that so I’ve never been here for more than a coffee run for my dumb ex who so happens to be my boss. So this is a first for me. Is that weird? I feel like it’s weird.”
“I’ll take that as a positive; puts your idea of ‘Liams’ in the neutral for the time-being; soon you’ll be associating ‘Liam’ with ‘amazing person’,” he smirked.
“Ha, you’ve only known me for a few minutes and you’re already offering to buy me things?” he grinned, a teasing sparkle in his eyes. “I’m flattered, really. But I’m paying for the drinks,” he insisted.
"Slow down, I’m not offering to buy you things today. I don’t buy things for people I’ve just met. Well– that’s a lie. I’ve on many occasions bought things for people who– you know what? Let’s forget I said that. I’m going to let you in on a secret, okay? I’m awkward. I'm very awkward and the more I try to not be awkward the more it comes out.“ Anna tucked some hair behind her ear as she spoke to him, sometimes pulling the strand out from behind her ear just so she could retuck it once more. "Remember that Anna is a common name but I can already tell you that there is no other Anna out there like me. I’m one of a kind– though when people tell me that I can’t always tell if they’re being kind or mean it as an insult. I always just take it as a compliment though because thinking positive just makes life so much more fun.”
Liam smiled at her story. “I’m usually not a picky eater, just something about chocolate is too sweet for me,” he shrugged. “I’m Liam,” he said, holding his hand out. “It’s nice to meet you, Anna,” he added with a nod, keeping them steered towards Granny’s.
"Liam, huh? I like the name. I’ve never met anyone named Liam before.“ Anna realized she sounded weird so she cleared her throat, again, before continuing to speak. "I’m pretty sure I bleed chocolate from how much I eat. Though I think I can still be your friend even if you don’t like chocolate. I’ll just have to buy you vanilla things instead of chocolate things! How about that?”
“To each their own, love,” he smiled, an amused look on his face as she rambled. “I’m not much of a sweet tooth in general, yet another character flaw,” he smiled. “Shall we be on our way, then?” he asked, gesturing her forward.
“I guess you’re right. I mean, I remember when I was forced to eat spinach and I thought that I would grow muscles like the ones Kai told me about and so I tried to eat a whole plate full– let’s just say I found out the hard way I have a spinach allergy. Well, by allergy I mean that I really don’t like it one bit.” Anna moved forward, realizing she was just standing instead of walking. “Oh, I’m Anna by the way. Sorry, I don’t think we’ve met before.”
“Sure, if you don’t mind the walk to Granny’s,” he shrugged and gave her a reassuring smile while straightening his jacket. “Though, I’ll probably be ordering hot tea, I confess. I’m not that fond of chocolate.”
“Wait, you don’t like chocolate? How is that even possible? I don’t… I’ve never met someone who doesn’t like chocolate before. I-I’m not judging. Nope. Don’t think I’m judging and wondering how that’s possible, because I’m not.” Anna cleared her throat before nodding her head. “Granny’s? Sounds great, actually. I’m not that fond of hot tea, so I guess I can relate to you in not liking something… but that doesn’t make sense… I’m just gonna… yeah…”
“Not exactly what I had in mind, but not bad either,” Liam grinned, eyebrows raising up.
“You said drinks so I thought you meant all drinks. Can hot chocolate be on the list now?” Anna let out a laugh, her cheeks tinted pink due to the embarrassment that was bubbling up inside her as she realized she had been completely wrong about what he had been asking her.
